<image:caption>Plant Size: 18 to 36 inches tall, 12 to 18 inches wide Culinary Use: Fresh, dried, or frozen leaves for flavoring Italian or Asian cuisine For small gardens and containers, Greek Columnar is the basil to try. Plants grow in columnar fashion, growing up and just slightly out. You end up with tall plants packed with flavorful leaves. Flowers rarely appear, so plants produce foliage all season long. Greek Columnar basil offers a complex flavor, blending traditional basil taste with spicy overtones of cinnamon, allspice, and cloves.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Santo is a slow-bolting selection grown for its leaves. Like the leaves and seeds, the flowers are also edible. • Attracts Beneficial Insects: if allowed to flower, provides pollen and nectar for beneficial insects such as, bees, hoverflies, and tachinid flies. •Edible Flowers: Use them raw because the flavor fades quickly when cooked. Sprinkle to taste on salads, bean dishes, chicken, and spicy Southwestern dishes. Flavor is of mild cilantro.</image:caption>

<image:caption>In addition to providing aromatic seeds and foliage, dill will brighten your garden with its yellow-green flowers in spring and fall. While typical dill grows to a height of 2 to 4 feet, Fernleaf dill is more compact, growing only 18 to 24 inches tall. It is a warm-season annual, but really loves mild weather–not too hot, not too cold. With its slender stem and delicate leaves, it makes a good mid- to back-of-the-border addition to your garden. Try growing dill in a spot where it can easily reseed.</image:caption>

Sometimes called fernleaf lavender, Lavandula pinnata is native to the Canary Islands and Madeira where conditions are arid and temperatures mild. This beautiful ornamental is technically a subshrub, which means it behaves like a perennial but develops woody stems over time. Its super showy leaves are large, ferny and silvery gray-green. In fact, it rivals dusty miller has a silvery foliage plant.</image:caption>

It has silvery-grey, toothed-edged leaves, similar to dentata, but larger and of a whiter gray color. The blooms are soft blue lavender in tight whorled spikes on short stems, appearing nearly year-round in mild climates - it is noted as one of the best for winter flowers and can even be grown in a well-lighted sun room in colder climates. <image:caption>Often compared to marjoram or thyme, summer savory has a spicy aroma and pungent, peppery flavor that’s milder and less penetrating than its cousin, winter savory. It’s a key ingredient in classic herb blends like bouquet garni and fines herbes. And is indispensable for kicking up mild foods without overpowering them. Use it to brighten everything from omelets to chowders. Or combine it with snipped chives, lemon and mayonnaise to coat chicken or fish. Fun Fact: In Germany, summer savory is also called bohnenkraut, or bean herb, because it pairs so well with bean dishes.</image:caption>

French tarragon is the variety used for cooking in the kitchen and is not grown from seed, as the flowers are sterile; instead it is propagated by root division. Tarragon is one of the four fine herbs of French cooking, and is particularly suitable for chicken, fish and egg dishes. Tarragon is the main flavoring component of Bearnaise Sauce. Fresh, lightly bruised sprigs of tarragon are steeped in vinegar to produce tarragon vinegar.</image:caption>

Essential in French cooking - no stew, soup or ragout is complete without this key culinary ingredient and it compliments meats, seafood, veggies and sauces well. French Thyme is also a basic herb in the savory seasoning satchel, Bouquet Garni, because it retains its flavor and scent during the cooking process.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Proud Berry™ coralberry makes it unbelievably easy to fill your landscape with these unique pink berries, guaranteed to turn heads. Cute, rounded, bluish-green leaves look handsome all season, then, in late summer, bell-shaped flowers appear. As the season changes to autumn, the flowers develop into large dark pink berries, the color intensifying with cold weather. As pretty as it is, this North American native is also amazingly tough, effortlessly fending off deer, cold weather, and problem soils. The fruit is not edible, but may be eaten by birds in mid-late winter. This plant makes an excellent cut flower for fall arrangements.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Our Latest Year Flowering Plant. The Montauk Daisy is a member of the chrysanthemum family with Japanese origins. Up until a few years ago the Latin name was Chrysanthemum nipponicum. It has been changed to Nipponanthemum nipponicum. Despite its Japanese origin, the Montauk Daisy naturalized itself around the Montauk Lighthouse Long Island, New York hence its common name. The Montauk Daisy is a large mounding shrub-like plant of thick glossy green leaves all year long. This sun loving perennial is as happy in the flower bed as it is right on the ocean coast growing in sand. For ocean cottage living, the Montauk Daisy is a must.   </image:caption>

The foliage tips sometimes develop an orangey hue. In June and July, 'Angelina' has terminal clusters of star-shaped, vibrant yellow flowers. The drooping buds face upward when they open and the plant can grow to 6 inches tall and 12 inches wide. It is superlative as a groundcover, spilling over rock walls, and in containers.
