We have a great Farm Raised box for you this week!

This week includes:

Savoy Cabbage

Zucchini

Cucumber

Lettuce

Bell Peppers

Yellow Beans

Avocados (not from our Farm)

Peaches (not from our Farm)

Care and tips for this weeks items:

Savoy Cabbage is probably the “prettiest” of the cabbages- it’s ruffly leaves make it quite lovely. Savoy cabbage has a more mild, sweeter flavor than the typical green cabbage and it is also very tender. Click here for some great savoy cabbage recipes Rinse with cold water upon unpacking the box, wrap in a dishtowel and store in the fridge- will last up to 2 weeks.

Zucchini should be kept in the crisper section of the fridge- best if used within 3-5 days for best flavor.

Cucumbers should also be kept in the crisper section of the fridge.

Lettuce may be a little wilted upon arrival- we don’t have a fancy hydro-cooler like big farms, so oe we ick ours in the morning, they get a quick ice water bath, then immediately head into the fridge until the afternoon when we pack your box. A quick cold water rinse when you unpack it will help it regain some of the moisture it may have lost during shipping. Wrap in a dishtowel so it can “breathe” and store in the fridge. Best if used within 5 days.

Bell peppers should be kept in the fridge. These sweet beauties are the first picking for us this year! Taste the farm fresh difference.

Yellow Beans- small and tender- these beans are a labor of love for us at The Farm. It takes a trained eye and lots of patience to pick them- but the flavor is amazing. Store in the fridge- best if used within 5 days

Avocados can be kept on the counter until they reach desired ripeness, then stored in the fridge.

Peaches should be kept in the fridge until ready to eat.
